The Golden Buddha is an amazing solid gold statue, 3m high and weighing over 5 tons. It was made in the 13th century - but then hidden from Burmese invaders in the 18th by covering it in plaster.

It was only 'rediscovered' in 1955 when the plaster was accidentally damaged!

A manageable walk from River City - and close to China Town.
